When it comes to having a baby, there are hundreds of items mothers will need to accommodate their newborn.  When thinking of baby gift ideas for a baby shower you should consider the items mothers won’t buy themselves.  Here are a few ideas for baby gifts that mom will appreciate, but not necessarily purchase on her own:

~Lullaby CD; soothing and calming music great for getting a baby to sleep (not all moms have good singing voices!).

~Baby Photo Album; if they don’t buy it, they’ll want it and need it within a few weeks of birth.

~Baby Hygiene; baby lotion, powder, shampoo, wipes, soap… the list is endless, and she’ll need a lot of it.

Gender-neutral baby shower gifts

Struggling over what to buy as a baby shower gift? It can be a tough endeavor, especially if you don’t know the sex of the baby yet. But there are a lot of gender-neutral gifts and colors out there. For instance, yellow and green are great stand-ins for blue and pink when you aren’t sure if you’re shopping for a baby boy or girl.

Great gift ideas are books, fluffy stuffed animals and clothes (in neutral colors, of course). But make sure when shopping for a baby shower gift that you check with your friends – you don’t want to end up giving the same gifts!

Baby Gift Ideas

Recently, friends of mine had a set of twins.  It was really exciting, and the babies are healthy and beautiful, a boy and a girl.  But for some reason, I had a mental block when it came to baby gift ideas for the new family.

When I asked other friends for advice, I was reminded that with multiple births, the basics apply—the family will need double (or triple, or quadruple, and so on) of everything.  Baby gift baskets are a great choice for multiple births so that each baby has his or her own special items and necessities.
